CSS: Resources

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

CSS can be seen as one of the crown jewels of DHTML development. CSS can have some endless variations as far as design is concerned, but just as those possiblities seem endless so can tweaking the thing to perform correctly. One of the major thorns in my side is of course MS IE (Internet Explorer). It is really frustrating that MS thinks it doesn’t have to conform to standards the whole world agrees to. They are kinda like Iran, no submission to weapons inspectors, no agreement to the UN, and very little in the way of cooperation.

No, this isn’t a political joust, just seems that MS doesn’t care what the rest of the world does, and if there is something they think they should add, they re-invent the wheel and try to make everybody else conform to new standards set by them. Why does MS have such crappy support for CSS 2.1, everybody else doesn’t seem to have a problem with it.

In anycase, because IE is so dis-agreeable we probably have more CSS information out there than what is really necessary. But, you can’t have too many eggs in the basket, so here is one of the penultimate lists I have every seen for CSS support in the form of resources. Once you have this, you will most likely not need another list for some time. Of course it will take you about a month to go through this list and find all the stuff you would like, but here it is.

Web Developers Handbook

This is quite possibly the most complete list of CSS resources I have ever seen.  OH!!! This would make a great blog series! ;)  Systematically go through the list and publish a report on each one! Wow! how tedious.   I think I’ll let you browse this thing, and see what works for you.  Not only CSS but a ton of great resources here, even some Javascript stuff.  Blogs, toolkits, web-pages, forums,,whewww!  Good stuff all of it.
